Doctrinal Statement

Holy Scripture

I believe that the Bible, which contains 66 canonical books, is God’s written revelation to man, given to us by the Holy Spirit. I believe in both the verbal (all the words) and plenary (equally in all parts) inspiration of the Word of God (1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

I believe that the revelation of God to humanity is both general, which is demonstrated through nature, history, and the constitution of the human being (Ps 19:1; Romans 1:20; Job 12:23; Ps. 47:7; Isaiah 10: 5-13; Daniel 2:21; Acts 17:26; Romans 2:11-17) and special which is God’s manifestation of Himself to particular individuals at definite times and places (Gen.1:28; 3:8-9; Exod.3:14; Phil.3:10; Jn.1; 12:28) and these manifestations are recorded in the written word of God.

I believe that all Scripture is God-breathed, thus it is plenary, inerrant, and infallible (I Peter 1:20-21; 2 Tim.3:16-17)

God

I believe that there is but one living and true God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7; 1 Corinthians 8:4), an infinite, omniscient (John 4:24), perfect in all His attributes, one in essence, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Gen. 1:1; Jn. 1:1; Acts 5:1-4; 1 Jn. 5:7)—each equally deserving worship and obedience.

I believe that the creative act is attributed only to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God; He created both visible and invisible (Gen.1:1; Ps. 96.5; Isaiah 37:16; 44:24; 45:12; Jer. 10:11-12; Rom.1:20; 1:16).

Humanity

I believe that human being is directly created by God and created in the image of God (Gen. 2:7, 26-27; 9:6; 1 Cor.11:7; Eph.4:21-24; Col.3:10; James 3:9).

I believe that God created the human being in His image for His own glory and pleasure (Isaiah 43:7; Ps.100:1-3).

Sin

I believe that sin is the missing of the mark that God has set up as standard (Judges 20:16; Pr.19:2).

I believe that all men are corrupted from the Fall of Adam onward, and his corrupted sinful nature has been transmitted to all men of all ages except for Jesus Christ. Consequently, all men are sinners by choice since birth because of their corrupt nature (Psalm 14:1-3; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:9-18, 23; 5:10-12).

I believe that all men became inherently corrupt and utterly incapable of choosing or doing that which is acceptable to God apart from divine grace (Genesis 2:16-17; 3:1-19; John 3:36; Romans 3:23; 6:23; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Ephesians 2:1-3; 1 Timothy 2:13-14; 1 John 1:8).

Salvation

I believe that salvation is exclusively from God by grace on the basis of the works of Jesus Christ, the merit of His shed blood, and not on the basis of human merit or works (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19)

I believe that salvation is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit by which the divine nature and divine life are given (John 3:3-7; Titus 3:5).

I believe that salvation requires a demonstration of faith in Christ’s person and works (Acts 19:31; John 9:35-38; 10:30; Phil. 2:6-11. As to His work -- Matt.20:28; 26:26-28; Luke 24:27, 44. A radical turn from sin (Matt.3:1, 2; 4:17; Luke 24:47; Mark 6:12; Acts 2:38; Acts 20:21).

I believe that justification, regeneration, election, security, and sanctification are ultimately the direct work of the Triune God in the life of a sinner’s soul (Romans 8:28-30; Ephesians 1:4-11; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 2:10; 1 Peter 1:1-2; Ephesians 1:4-7; Titus 3:4-7; 1 Peter 1:2; Romans 8:33; Acts 20:32; 1 Corinthians 1:2, 30; 6:11; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Hebrews 2:11; 3:1; 10:10, 14; 13:12; 1 Peter 1:2).

Jesus Christ

I believe that Jesus is the incarnate God through the Virgin Mary, and He is fully God-Man in nature, seated at the right hand of the Father (Matt. 1-2; 9:38; 11:25; Acts 17:24; Rev.4:11; Jn. 1:1-18; 5:2-18; Rom.2:3; Col.1:15-16; 2:9; Heb. 1:3).

I believe in the virgin birth, sinless life, physical death, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ (Matt. 1:23; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Cor. 15:2-4).

I believe that although Jesus is a human, He was holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, and He is exalted above the heavens (Heb.4:15; 7:26; 9:14; Jn. 6:69; 2 Cor.5:21; 1Pet. 2:22; 1 Jn.3:5).

I believe that Jesus came to make an atonement for sinners in order to reconcile those who trust Him with the Father (Jn. 17; Rom. 8:33-34; Heb. 7:25; 9:24; 1 Pet. 2:21; Gal. 3:13; 4:4-6; 2 Cor.5:21).

Holy Spirit

I believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all true believers, empowering them to do the will of God on earth, and sealing them until the day of their redemption (1 Cor. 6:19; Eph. 4:30).

I believe that the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit as well the Father and the Son (Jn.16:13-14; Eph.1:14; Jn. 14:26; 15:26; 16:7; Acts 5).

I believe that all sinners who place their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual Body, the bride of Christ, the church (1 Cor.12:12-13; 2 Cor.11:2; Eph. 5:23-32; Rev.19:7-8; 1:22; 4:15; Col.1:18).

I believe that Jesus Christ is the one supreme authority for the church (1 Cor.11:3; Eph.1:22; Col.1:18

Last things

I believe in the rapture of all believers prior to the Great Tribulation Period (1 Thess. 4:13-17).

I believe in the personal, visible, and premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rev. 19:1-20:9).

I believe that all who are saved will spend an eternity of conscious blessedness with God in heaven, and all those who reject the message of the Gospel in this life will suffer an eternity of conscious torment in hell (2 Cor. 5:1; 2 Thess. 1:7-9).
